RUBY ON RAILS, C++ WIZARD needed to take over a membership site (Seattle)

I have a website that is in need of a new developer that can take our site to the next level. The site was built with Ruby and I believe some C++. I'm no programmer so I don't know the ins and outs of all programming involved. We also have WordPress pages plugged in. The site sells tangible product and is a cash business. The site is strong but has a few major flaws that we need fixed. We also have some ideas moving forward that will ensure that there will be a continuous, monthly need for work. We are in our 3rd year of business and are a success.

It would be optimum if you could also host the site.

We will pay the typical market rate standards for top notch programming which I believe sits somewhere in the area of $40 to $80 per hour. This will be negotiated case by case.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Python and C/C++ (or LLVM) Engineer (Austin, TX)

We're a small, fun, and dynamic software company looking for a talented and motivated software engineer.

We are embarking on a high performance C/C++ based Python interpreter that implements a small subset of the Python language spec (intended for use in real-time, performance-sensitive applications). We intend to fully open source this undertaking, so your work will live-on to be publicly available.

Alternatively, we are considering a LLVM approach where you would author a LLVM bytecode compiler for a small small subset of the Python language. So if you have a background in LLVM, you should contact us.

Requirements:

- You have expert-level knowledge and experience in designing compilers and/or interpreters
- You have expert-level proficiency in either C/C++ and/or LLVM
- You have been a key engineering team member in at least one commercial-caliber interpreter or compiler project (or you have designed and built your own)

This position is full or part-time and compensation will be based on the proficiency and relevancy of the skills you offer. Due to the nature of the work, your level of knowledge on compilers and interpreters will be rigorously tested via interviews, so please only respond to this ad if you strictly meet the above requirements. Although we will strongly favor local candidates, we are open to telecommuting for truly exceptional candidates.
