We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and motivated developer to help us part-time with the maintenance of our IT system. The system has been built with the Microsoft technology stack, including ASP.NET 3.5, SQL Server, VSTO, and .NET Windows Forms. The features of the system span the entire scope of operations including customer sign up, subscription management, meal and delivery planning, email notifications, billing, and fulfillment support.
You will be able to rely on guidance and advice from the system architect, but you will be expected to be pro-active and take initiative to close issues and provide enhancements with your development work.
Responsibilities
? Maintain the existing system: monitor and fix system errors
? Database backup
? Style and content changes to the user interface
? You will be a part of the fulfillment team and will be expected to fill in the gaps with quick ad-hoc reporting, scripting, or bug fixes when errors affect fulfillment operations
? Develop new system features with guidance from the system architect
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Excellent organizational skills.
? Minimum 1 year of experience as a web developer working with C# and ASP.NET
? Solid understanding of CSS level 2, and some experience with jQuery
? Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008
? Some exposure to and familiarity with XSLT transformations
? Experience with QuickBooks integration is a plus
? Experience with AspDotNetStorefront is a plus
? Reliability, a professional attitude, and a willingness to do what is required in a cooperative work

ASP Developer
We're a small custom software outfit in Visalia. You are a competent ASP.NET developer (bonus points for being proficient with ASP Classic and MVC) looking for some project work.
You can work from our office or from your location. Ideally you'll be able to pop in to the office for face-to-face meetings every so often (we'll make sure to have coffee, soda and donuts on hand those days).
There are certain things we're looking for:
1) Be hip to standards-compliant markup and CSS-based layouts. For some reason the ASP world produces a lot of programmers who write 1998-era markup. This is not good.
2) Be hip to either jQuery or some other library that makes DOM scripting and AJAX-y things easy. If you're a braniac who can write flawless DOM code without using a library, more power to you.
3) Must love zombies.
4) Be a socially competent human being. Geeky is OK (hell, we prefer it); unable to relate to other human beings is not.
5) No snobbery. The kind of projects we tend to do are dirty, blue-collar, roll-your-sleeves-up-and-get-dirt-on-your-workboots affairs that usually involve repairing, refactoring or unraveling someone else's bad code. Architecture astronauts and process snobs need not apply. This is ugly work sometimes.
Right now there are a handful of projects that can be parceled out to interested devs. The better you bang them out, the more we can hand more off to you. Step on up, let us know if you're available and/or interested, and quote us your rate.
